Priceless Moments on the Diamond! 🥎💙The U17 ORSA Lady Otters had the incredible opportunity to qualify for and compete at the Eastern Canadian Championships in Laval, Quebec from Aug 21–24. Representing our small but mighty rural communities of Norwich and Otterville, these girls faced some of the best Tier 2 teams from across Ontario and each of the eastern provinces.
Our Otters battled against ON1 UTM Morristown (Ontario), NS1 Cole Harbour (Nova Scotia), NB2 Fredericton (New Brunswick), QB2 Lac St. Louis (Quebec), and NS3 Dartmouth (Nova Scotia). They opened the tournament with a hard-fought game against eventual champions, the Cole Harbour Comets, before delivering one of the weekend’s most exciting highlights: a thrilling seventh-inning comeback win over Dartmouth, 18–17! 🙌
It wasn’t an easy road to get here, picking up a coach (thank you, Bianca!) missing our pitcher (we missed you, Ava!), and welcoming a replacement to help the team out. These girls showed nothing but heart, soul, and teamwork all weekend. They gave it their all in the skills competition, at the opening ceremonies, and in every game on the field.
