Otters Championship Super Sunday
WHAT A CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY FOR THE OTTERS!  We had 4 teams competing in their year end tournaments this past weekend and ALL OF THEM made it to Championship Sunday and brought home hardware.  What an amazing showing by all of our teams.  This is what success looks like!

Click here for all the details on how these Otters finished their seasons.

Both of our U11 boys teams, and the U13 girls were competing in Innerkip this weekend.

U11 boys #1 had a strong finish to their ball season, going undefeated over 4 games to take the U11 B tournament championship. Strong hitting, solid pitching, and some great plays in the field edged out Burgessville, Ayr, PDP and Ayr again in the finals.  Thanks to the players, their parents, all coaches and NO Minor Ball for their time and commitment to make this season a success!

U11 boys #2 were seeded into the A division and started with an early win against Embro #1, followed by a loss to Cambridge.  That took them into the loser bracket where they battled back winning 3 straight games against 2 separate Innerkip teams and Hickson.  This put them in the championship game where they were defeated by a strong Cambridge team.  Placing second was a great finish to a fun year on the diamond.  An excellent job by players and coaches to battle through the heat and finish strong.

Heading into the SOSL U13 girls year-end tournament, finishing second place in season standings, this team of girls showed up to play ball!  They went undefeated all weekend against Sweaburg, Innerkip, and Hickson.  Dependable pitching, strong fielding, powerful bats and great coaching lead to the 16-6 victory against Innerkip in the finals on Sunday.  Congratulations to the Norwich-Otterville U13 Girls for being the 2025 SOSL U13 Girls Champions!

Meanwhile, in Jarvis, the U13 boys were playing in their first OASA Provincial tournament.  These young men put together an amazing season in their debut year in the North Waterloo Fastball League and OASA level tournaments.  No one saw this team coming when the season started, and they received so much support from other teams and fans along the way.  They went 11-3 in the regular season and used this as an opportunity to refine their skills and come together as a team.  A strong finish in qualifiers in July seeded the Otters 2nd in Western Ontario and put them into the "A" division.  They opened the tournament with a 12-6 win against Tara Minor, followed by a tough 3-4 loss against Napanee Blue.  They battled back from a 7-4 deficit to beat Tara Major 17-9 and secure their spot in the top 4 on Sunday.  The boys played an absolutely stellar game Sunday morning beating a strong Wilmot Major team 11-1, scoring an amazing 8 runs in a 5th inning rally to pull ahead.  Unfortunately they couldn't defeat the eventual tournament champions, Napanee Blue, in their final game of the tournament.  A 7-0 loss was tough, but they kept their heads up knowing they had secured a bronze medal against a talented pool of 16 teams.  Congratulations to the U13 boys for a strong representation of our club against the best teams in the province.

Congratulations to all our Otters.  This is proof that we are leaders on the diamond and should be proud of all of our talented athletes!  Go Otters!
